NPR (National Public Radio) is a privately and
publicly funded non-profit membership media organization that provides
Public News, Talk and Entertainment to more than 700
public radio stations in the United
States. Created in 1970, following congressional passage of the Public
Broadcasting Act of 1967, NPR is part of the Corporation for Public
Broadcasting, which provides television programming under the Public
Broadcasting Service (PBS).
